The Acne Free Clear Skin Diet – How To Eat For Healthy Skin

Having Acne all over your body and face can be tremendously difficult to deal with. Not only will it significantly lower your confidence, it also makes you feel ugly and it is unhealthy. What if I told you how to eat for healthy skin?

Lucky for you, there exists an Acne Free Clear Skin Diet, and I am here to share it with you! Before we get into the details lets make some sense of this. Our bodies are programmed to eat healthy foods so when we feed our bodies unhealthy things like soda and sugar, our bodies have a negative reaction to that.

That negative reaction can be gaining weight, getting sick, breaking out. All those bad chemicals we consume are trying to escape our bodies because naturally they are not meant to be in our bodies and this will result in acne. Pretty much, all the toxins try to escape through your pores, like a natural detox process.

Foods That Can Cause Acne

Before I can share what foods can help eliminate acne, you must know what foods you should absolutely stay away from. This can be even more important than knowing what foods can help because staying away from these foods alone will greatly increase your chances of clearing up your skin.

Here are some foods you may want to avoid, and why:

1. Sugar

Here it is, the infamous food on every do not eat/ stay away from list, “Sugar”. It is clear and safe to say that sugar is BAD for you. It makes you gain weight, and now we know that it will give you acne if eaten excessively. Sugar increases insulin levels and causes an insulin spike, which in turn, promotes skin oils on your face and body which leads to breaking out.

2. Cow’s Milk

This does not mean you can’t ever eat cereal ever again in your life. It just means you have to change the milk you drink if you want to see any skin improvements. Cow’s milk can increase blood sugar which causes inflammation and insulin spikes which we know, leads to more oils on your skin. Milk also has growth hormones, which can cause the over growth of skin cells, thus blocking pores. Stay away from milk and you might end up getting the confidence you lack in your life.

3. Junk Food

Processed foods, Swiss cake rolls, Twinkies, chocolates, candy, is all going to have a negative role in the overall clarity of your skin. Just cut all the garbage out of your life, and not only will you reach that clear skin you always wanted, but you will also feel so much better and have much more energy in your life. Healthy food tastes better too so it is a no brainier on this one, you just have to make that first and hardest move to just DO IT and take control of your life NOW!

4. Fast Food

McDonald, Burger King, Wendeys, Taco Bell, say good bye to all these restaurants because you won’t be eating from these places if you ever want a chance to have clear and beautiful skin. All that greasy food makes your skin break out like you have never seen before. It is quite disgusting if you ask me. Do yourself a favor and pretend these places don’t even exist. You will definitely thank me later.

5. High Glycemic Foods

Flour, white rice, white potatoes, bananas, grapes, cherries, watermelon, raisins, many cereals, white bread, soda, cookies, and crackers. All these foods are going to cause your blood sugar to increase thus causing an insulin spike and as we discussed before, that will only promote skin oils and breakouts. Cut these out of your diet and you will be golden.

  1. This is fascinating! I had terrible skin, growing up. Acne plagued me for several years, from the onset of puberty until sometime in my mid-twenties. I probably bought more bottles of acne medication than anyone I knew at the time, but never gave much thought to how my diet was affecting it. I was very heavy on the sugar and the fast-food, in those days. Not so much after age 25 or so, which is probably why my skin cleared up. Great article!

    • Thank you Mark,
Yes that is definitely the reason. Fast food and sugar can make your skin break out with acne. Its truly amazing what changing your diet can actually do for you. Thanks for sharing your experience with us.
      Take care,

  3. Hi Johnny,

My son who is 14 years old has lots of acne in his face and back. At his age, it’s so hard to limit him on sugars and fast food and encourage him to eat more fruits and veggies.

And he loves cow’s milk, do you mean I have to switch him to plant -based milk like soya or almond milk? It’s quite expensive but I know it’s the healthier option.

Thanks for this very informative post.

    Marita

    • Marita,

Yes I would suggest he switch to almond milk, its way more healthier for you. Too much dairy is not good for you, I limit my dairy to 1/2 cup of 2% plain greek yogurt a day, and that’s it!

      Good luck with your son,

      Take care,

      Johnny Z
